The book is subdivided in three parts; the first one focusses on the identifying features of collective systems, as well as on the general properties, analytical exact and asymptotic solutions, derivation and history of Vlasov equation. The focus is on physical applications and on a pedagogical exposition.
The second part concerns reduced kinetic models of Vlaso (with a focus on laser-plasma interactions and magnetically confined plasmas).
The third part deals with problems and techniques of numerical integration of the Vlasov-Poisson and Vlasov-Maxwell systems in different classical and relativistic regimes.
