Beginning Minimalist Syntax

While many books aim to reanalyze the features of Government Binding theory in terms of Minimalism, only Minimalism: A First Guide to Analysis takes a fresh look at this most current syntactic theory and attempts to answer the following questions: How does Minimalist thinking differ from the ways in which we've previously thought about syntax? Which phenomena are more amenable to Minimalist analysis? What do we gain by looking at specific phenomena through the lens of Minimalism? This beginniner's guide aims to lay the groundwork for thinking in the framework of Minimalism.
