Bivalve species are of key commercial importance. The popularity of bivalves as both cultured and wild harvested species is growing at a rapid pace. While there are numerous publications focused on these key species there is no reference that brings together valuable information on the normal anatomy and disease of multiple bivalve species in a single volume. Anatomy and Disease of Commercial Important Bivalve Species will serve as an atlas of normal anatomy and histology of key bivalves including scallops, oysters, mussels, hard clams, and soft shell clams that also consistently describes in words and demonstrates pictorially bivalve response to infectious agents at a histological level. Divided into two sections, section one covering normal anatomy and section two covering disease, this volume will serve as an invaluable reference to everyone involved in the treatment, production, and research of bivalves.
