The use of genomic technologies has grown significantly in the study of crop improvement. To accomodate the need for new literature, Crop Bioinformatics is designed to provide crop scientists with cutting-edge details of how large datasets using genomic, metabolomic, proteomic, phenomic and other high through-put technology are being mined and exploited using computers and the application of techniques to any crop system using publicly available information and software. This book will focus on the use of in silico techniques to understand crop genomes and related data, and methodologies to discover from such data genes conferring desirable traits in crops. Each chapter will be written by a specialist in field and will provide key information to applying these cutting-edge techniques to research.
