Nephrology is sometimes considered a complicated and specialized topic and the illustrative ABC format is designed to help GPs quickly and easily assimilate the information they need. This book covers which tests to use, when they should be used, and what constitutes normal and abnormal results; when and how to refer to a kidney specialist; symptoms, signs, treatments; and common issues presenting to GPs and prevention. It also covers organizational aspects of renal disease management, dialysis and transplantation. All chapters will be updated and fully revised in accordance with new NICE and other guidelines on anaemia management in chronic kidney disease and blood pressure control in chronic kidney disease.
